  • Really Trusting!
  • Ever notice in your life when your walking with Christ, I mean really walking and trusting God how everything seems to line up perfectly in Sync?
I have, lately I have discovered that when Trusting In God fully and desiring Him fully he fulfills needs you never knew you had. His ways are truely better than ours His thoughts are definately different than ours. How remarkable and great that is to know.

Think about it, His intentions for us are so much greater than our own intentions if we just trust Him, we will allow Him to reveal himself to us. I mean look around you at nature, feel the wind across your cheak, the crisp leaves beneath your feet. Who do you think created all of this who do you think is breathing a breath of fresh air upon your face, or allowing you to hear the symphony of music that surrounds us. Jesus THE CHRIST!

If you look at humans and the earth through Christ eyes you will see a beautiful master piece a mess of things that God is waiting to paint and mold into a beautiful piece of art work.

I used to think I was beyond repair, I mean after all everything I have done in life, how can God create something Beautiful out of all this. However He says "In our weaknesses we are made strong." and All things work together for good right! Answer to that is right.

Think about your worst trials who do you run to and cry out to when it comes? Jesus right? Who is there to hold you in His arms, and when the break thru happens, who is the one who fixed it? I find my self praising God through my storms, because after all its thru my storms I am closest to God.

It seems the more you try to get on track the harder the devil pushes, if you look at it thru different eyes through Christ eyes you will see this as an opportunity to serve Christ. Look at Job in the Bible, His family His live stock, his health, all taken from him, Yet he NEVER gave up on God.
He never let anyone say an ill thing about Him. He refused to allow the devil have the glory, and look in the end what happened. Job was blessed ten fold! Abraham was asked to murder his only son, then in the end a lamb was there to take isaacs place. Abraham knew that he was to be the father of many nations, so he trusted God, and God provided a way out.

In my own life I have seen many miracles, people healed, lives changed. Its one thing to say you trust and have faith its another to boldly live that faith!

My prayer is that I have this bold faith that was set as an example before us. Faith like Sarah and Ruth in the Bible, the faith the disciples showed by giving up their lives to follow Christ. My prayer is the same for you. Be bold don't be afraid your not alone in this world!

    In Christ Alone!

  • MELVINDALE: Ministry delivers thousands of gifts to area hospitals
  • MELVINDALE –– Tucked away in a cramped fluorescent-lighted copy room in one of the city’s churches, two hearts are filled with the satisfaction of helping area seniors.

With determination and warm laughs, the Rev. Jerry Lee Williams and intern pastor Bret Kostyu of Heart to Heart Ministries plan how they will create and deliver thousands of gifts to area hospitals and assisted living facilities on Christmas Day, considering tough economic times.

“When Jesus was leaving Earth, he said, ‘Go on my Son and carry on what I have done,’” Williams said. “Those words mean a lot to me.”

Last year, the ministry gave about 1,000 stuffed animals to Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital and delivered goody bags to seniors in assisted living. Williams said he plans to move to area Oakwood Health Care System hospitals plus Allegiance Health Hospital in Jackson and Garden City Hospital.

“What hits me the most is when I see the kids,” Williams said.

He is a self-proclaimed “wimp” and said that when the patients he is delivering to begin to cry, he always cries, too.

“I did not realize how many people are in the hospital on Christmas Day,” Williams said.

Most of his relatives have passed on, so he looks forward to delivering the gifts to seniors each Christmas. He starts at about 7 a.m. and ends at midnight.

Williams said he will go without to ensure that seniors’ needs are met, and he even donated his disability check to help pay for some seniors medication.

“Any gift I get goes right back out,” Williams said.

Heart to Heart started seven years ago with Regency Healthcare Center in Taylor. Williams would drive a moped around, before he sold it and donated the money to a family in need, and he remembers his first delivery of gift bags to the nursing home.

“I had grocery bags hung all around my arms and even my neck, and I got pulled over because the cop didn’t think it was safe,” he said, laughing.

After Williams’ father died in a nursing home, he vowed that he would do all he could for seniors.

Even though he was in a near-fatal accident in 1991 and is battling cancer himself, he still dedicates his life to others.

“I was in the hospital for a very long time, and I know what it is to not have family,” he said.

Heart to Heart’s co-founder, Leola Hamby, died in 2008, and since then Williams said he wants to step it up.

Kostyu was an emergency medical technician on a private ambulance.

“I was in and out of nursing homes, and I got to love my patients,” he said. “Through that experience, I learned to love these folks. The simple act of holding their hand in the ambulance made the world of difference to them. I looked for an opportunity to give back and Jerry offered that to me.”

Faith Christian Assembly, 25201 Outer Drive, donates space to Heart to Heart, and Williams said they would not survive without the church’s help.

The ministry is seeking monetary donations and candies, stuffed animals, hygiene supplies and any small gifts for patients in a hospital.

“For three weeks before Christmas I work overnight, around the clock,” he said.

Williams said their goal is to try to give gifts to every nursing home in the Downriver area, but they cannot do it alone.

“If people feel for the elderly, I ask them to help,” he said. “I guarantee it would change their lives; it has helped change mine.”

The deadline to submit donations is Dec. 20.

To volunteer, call Williams at 1-313-573-9076. Donations are accepted at 3501 Oakwood Blvd., Apartment 317.

  • If
  • IF I KNEW

If I knew it would be the last time that I'd see you fall asleep, I would tuck you in more tightly and pray the Lord, for your soul to keep.

If I knew it would be the last time that I see you walk out the door, I would give you a hug, and kiss, and call you back for one more.

If I knew it would be the last time I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise, I would video tape each action and word, so I could play them back day after day.

If I knew it would be the last time I would be there to share your day, well I'm sure you'll have so many more, so I can let this one slip away. For surely there's always tomorrow to make up for an oversite, and we always get a second chance to make everything just right.

There will always be another day to say"I LOVE YOU" and certainly there's another chance to say "ANYTHING I CAN DO?"

But just in case I might be wrong, and today is all I get, I'd like to say how much I LOVE YOU and hope we never forget.

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone, young or old alike, and today may be the last chance you get to hold your loved one tight.

So if you are waiting for tomorrow, why not do it today? For....if tomorrow never comes you'll surely regrect the day that you didn't take the extra time for a smile, a hug,or a kiss, and you were to busy to grant someone, what turned out to be their last wish.

So hold your loved ones close today, and whisper in their ear, tell them how much you LOVE them and that you'll always hold them dear.

Take time to say"I'M SORRY", "PLEASE FORGIVE ME," "THANK YOU," or "IT'S OKAY," and if tomorrow never comes, you will fell better knowing you have done all those things you had "INTENDED TO DO" today...........

  • Put Jesus in your life he helps all.........................................
  • Bonnie Raymond'Twas the night before Jesus came and all through the house
Not a creature was praying, not one in the house.
Their Bibles were lain on the shelf without care
In hopes that Jesus would not come there.
The children were dressing to crawl into bed,... Read More
Not once ever kneeling or bowing a head.
And Mom in her rocker with baby on her lap
Was watching the Late Show while I took a nap.
When out of the East there arose such a clatter,
I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash!
When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But angels proclaiming that Jesus was here.
With a light like the sun sending forth a bright ray
I knew in a moment this must be The Day!
The light of His face made me cover my head
It was Jesus! returning just like He had said.
And though I possessed worldly wisdom and wealth
I cried when I saw Him in spite of myself.
In the Book of Life which He held in His hand
Was written the name of every saved man.
    He spoke not a word as He searched for my name;
When He said "It's not here" my head hung in shame.
The people whose names had been written with love
He gathered to take to His Father above.
With those who were ready He rose without a sound
While all the rest were left standing around.
    I fell to my knees, but it was too late;
I had waited too long and this sealed my fate.
    I stood and I cried as they rose out of sight;
Oh, if only I had been ready tonight.
    In the words of this poem the meaning is clear;
The coming of Jesus is drawing near.
There's only one life and when comes the last call
We'll find that the Bible was true after all! Please send out this keep it going HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS and Merry CHRIST-mas Lov U Lov Me

  • God is Awesome!
  • First of all I want to say a huge thank you to Cyndi. Thank you for setting this up. I know God wants us to do this, not sure why yet, but I am sure we will find out. He is awesome and he always has a purpose, just sometimes we have to be still and listen for the answer.

I want this web site to be a place where Christians can chat, laugh, cry-if need be, and just in general have a place to go and not worry about being judged. We can discuss whatever is in our hearts. Welcome, everyone who reads this blog, to Checbook! Love in Christ, Tresia West
